Few days ago we opened the field season at Bear Creek (near Dubois) with some surface NMR. This year the pre-irrigation measurements were done almost a month earlier than last year (the pics form last year), so we were surprised by herds of mule deer, mountain goats, a moose-mama and a calve. When the weather warms up the animals move at higher elevations. Also, we spotted the beaver that ate some of the pressure transducer cables at the site. No bears, fortunately.
Next to helping Niels with rolling cables, this year I have a new project: I’m making a short movie (5-7 min) about the field work done at this site and the project in general. I am quite excited about it, because I think the project is interesting, the area is beautiful, and more people should know what work is done and why.
The plan is to shoot some video during this field season and to produce the short movie before the end of 2016. But let’s see…
